Let's Toast Women, especially Helen Losse

Recently I discovered a site I think my women readers will enjoy. Women’s Voices for Change features Helen Losse, poetry editor of Dead Mule School of Southern Literature in a video of her reading from her new book, Seriously Dangerous published by Main Street Rag.

Lift Your Glass

From the vineyard,
she burst forth
with a hint of blush,
a touch of dew
upon her cheek.
Battered by winds, rain and time,
rooted deep, she toughens
to a satiny sheen.
Finally, crushed by adversity
she emerges, life's
finest nectar.

Drink a toast to woman.
